Hi! I’m Dave D. Mazur, a landscape oil painter featuring the landscapes of Western New York and specifically some of its state parks like Letchworth State Park, New York. I’m a graduate of Daemon University with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. After 35 years of not creating art, I decided to start again, teaching myself the skills of oil painting. I discovered Plein Air painting (outdoor painting) about 7 years ago with my first onsite experience 4 years ago at Letchworth State Park, New York. What this experience revealed is twofold; first, it’s a lot harder to paint onsite versus studio painting. But, the details are unparalleled by getting a first hand view of the subject matter. Second, to my amazement, the public that were present showed a great interest and respect for what I was doing and that gave me the encouragement that I needed to go full out in this endeavor.
